I’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions for your convenience. If you have other questions, feel free to email: carissadavidphotography@gmail.com

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: What is your photography philosophy?

A: My philosophy on client services creates beautiful friendship with each and every one of my clients that gose far beyond the day of your wedding/ event/ or portrait session. I treat each session or event as if I were your personal story teller. I generally am lead by something that inspires me when we first talk, then build from there. I am a humble artist and you become my muse as we create together images that will last more than a lifetime.

Q: How do I reserve a date with you?
A: All dates are reserved once I receive your signed contract and non-refundable deposit.

Q: If we cancel, will we receive our deposit fee back?
A: Unfortunately no. Deposit fees are used to reserve your date. Once I’ve reserved your date, I do not accept new clients for your date. Rescheduling may be considered with a 10 day notification depending on availability and consent.

Q: What rights do I have to the digital prints?

A: You have the right to reprint images and share with loved one as much as you like. However, you may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without the written consent of Carissa David Photography (sharing on social media is encouraged and not seen as 'publishing').  Your signed contract confirms your understanding of copyright agreement and image release to Carissa David Photography and will be used in a public portfolio as an expression of my art and creative process.

Q: Do you deliver every image you shoot?

A: No, I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. I don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so I spend hours doing that on my end. In another example, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions. I might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure I have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment. With my experience of processing millions of images each year, I may eliminate ones that I feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one to you.

Q: Do you touch up all the images in our image download?

A: Yes I do. Every image I deliver is post produced with my unique signature style of post production. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections.

Q: Do you provide the RAW files from my portraits session and/or wedding day?

A: Each of our packages comes with a full resolution image download. However, I do not provide RAW (unprocessed) files from our shoots because I believe in delivering a finished product. In fact, I'm often shooting with the end (post-produced) product in mind.

Q: Do you provide the digital negatives after the shoot?

A: Yes I do. All of my packages come with Full Resolution image download or disc, depending on the offer.

Q: What if I lose my images?

A: There is a $50 replacement charge for additional downloads after the event has been archived, 1 year to the date. I strongly suggest making at least one copy of the download upon delivery.

Q: Have you shot at my venue before?

A: I have shot at many Chicago venues, however, if I have not, I and crew will get to the venue early on the day of and be sure to perform a thorough walk-through to scout out the best photography locations. I also do extensive online research prior to your big day!

Q: Do you provide partial day coverage for events and weddings?

A: I typically do not provide partial day coverage on weekends. On weekends a full day of coverage is prefered or a value of  $1200.00 and above. For non wedding event coverage, a minimum of 6 hours of coverage is required on Friday-Sunday.
